The name Ne'Lashee' is a creative expression that symbolizes the oneness between mother & child.  Ne'Lashee' was born Yolanda Renee' Hagins and is a native of Hackensack, NJ.  Her vocal talents were discovered at a very young age, while singing in church choirs.  She is a recipient of the "Sempler Fidelis" Award of Musical Excellence presented to her by the United States Marines & the Marine Corps League.  This prestigous award was given in recognition of her diligence, dedication, and musical excellence as a soloist.

 

Ne'Lashee', is a former member and Musical Director of the Harlem Gospel Choir.  Ne'Lashee' has performed in various off-broadway plays such Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Nell Carter), Sing Harlem Sing & Mama I Want to Sing (Sister Carrie/Mama/Dinah Washington).  However, her favorite role to date is Effie in Dreamgirls.  Henry Krieger (composer) lauded Ne'Lashee' for her portrayal of Effie and for singing “I’m Not Going” exactly the way he wrote it to be sung . 

 

Ne'Lashee' received many accolades on all her performances.  It was quite evident that the same sincere and charming personality that radiates when she sings had been displayed in her acting as well.  She continues to dazzle audiences with the combination of her magnetic personality and her strong yet tender voice.  She has performed near and abroad in places such as the Blue Note Jazz Clubs in Fukuoka and Osaka, Japan and all around Europe.  Ne’Lashee’ has successfully transitioned from stage to the small screen as a cast member of the web series, “The Conservatory”.   

 

During the course of her career, Ne'Lashee' has worked with various entertainers such as, David Garrison (Married with Children), the late Michelle Thomas (Family Matters), her uncle James "J.T" Taylor ("The Voice of Kool & the Gang"), Kool & the Gang, Shirley Caesar, Kim Burrell, Dorinda Clark-Coles, any many more.  She is also a proud member of recording artists, Mietta Stancil-Farrar & Tehillah.  Ne'Lashee' remains loyal to her family, church and community. 

 

Ne’Lashee’ is also a writer, mentor and motivational speaker.  One of her most recent feats was the completion of her first book entitled, “Confessions From a Broken Place: Her Story, His Glory”, a fictional novel based on the true story of her life.  It is her mission to encourage, empower, inspire & educate every person whose life she is blessed to touch.  It is her commitment, faithfulness, and dedication, that has been the driving force that makes her successful in whatever venue she chooses.
